About Us

Our story

starts nearly 20 years ago, when Gil Shkedi left his life in the central region of Israel to live in the desert. He took up jeep trips and tours and came to know the desert trails and its travelers like the back of his hand. Over a decade ago, Gil set out to realize his dream: to establish a guest lodge for hikers and travelers. And so ever since, little by little, with his own two hands, with careful thinking and planning, as well as boundless love, Gil built the Shkedi Camplodge.
We are thrilled to have our guests stay with us time and again, thanks to the unique charisma of the lodge that combines convenient accommodations at an excellent location, with gracious service and personal treatment.

A Place We Call Home

Shkedi’s Camplodge at Neot Hakikar is located between the Dead Sea and the Arava region, thus serving as an ideal and convenient point of departure for hiking trips in the area. The Camplodge is situated in close proximity to popular hiking trails, including Wadi Perazim, Mount Sodom, HaMakhtesh HaKatan (the Small Crater), Wadi Tamar, the lower Wadi Peres riverbed and more.

The Camplodge is ideal for hosting groups of friends, families and individuals. In addition, the unique and tranquil atmosphere at the lodge is suited for holding events and workshops of an low key relaxed nature.
